gamechanger.

Every now and then, something comes along that totally changes the rules of the game.

We are quite surprised, thrilled, and a little anxious. We didn't expect this to happen just yet: the "plan" was to wait until I was fully recovered from my thyroidectomy. Guess what? Sometimes God has a sense of humor. I was pregnant before we even knew I'd have to have the surgery in the first place, and silly me "posh-poshed" Eric for weeks whenever he told me I should take a test. "My period's late because my thyroid isn't working," I'd say. This time, I'll allow him a little tongue waggle and some "I-told-you-so".

For those who really want to know, my baby is about ten weeks old now. There is a beating heart and the other internal organs are forming. It will be another two months before gender can be determined, and our bundle will most likely arrive in the last week of August or first week of September. I am not craving much (just peanut butter, but I crave that all the time anyway!) and my symptoms have been about the same as the first few months with Seth: no nausea, but lots of mind-numbing fatigue. I most look forward to spending the summer submerging my whale belly in the pool, because I did not have that benefit with my little winter baby.

It's about to get interesting around here!

xoxo, Sarah.
