the possibilities of monday.

1/21/13

Why does Monday get such a bad reputation? I'm assured that every Monday, I will see at least one person shrug, sigh loudly about something, and say "Well, it is Monday after all." You know, as if it is the day's fault that something went awry. I tend to think that Monday has a lot more possibility that we give it credit for:

It could be the day that you are reunited with a long-lost friend in an unexpected place...

...or the day that you find a loose hundred dollar bill in the parking lot of the supermarket...

...or the day that you cook your new favorite recipe for the first time...

...or the day that the person ahead of you in line at Starbucks buys your coffee for you...

...or the day that you crack the cover of the best book you'll ever read for the first time...

...or the day that you learn that you are descended from ancient royalty...

...or the day that you get a phone call that you've been hoping for...

...or the day that a random stranger on the sidewalk approaches you to offer a kind word...

...or the day that you meet the person you were meant to spend the rest of your life with...

...or the day that you find out you're getting a big promotion...

...or the day that you get a perfect pair of shoes 80% off regular price from the clearance rack...

...or the day that you get a sweet letter from a special someone in your mailbox...

...or the day that you find out that you're finally pregnant after years of trying...

...or the day that the next-door neighbor cuts your grass for you...

...or the day that you wake up feeling better than you have in months...

...or the day that your child learns how to tie his shoe...

...Monday can be a lot of good things.

What could Monday be trying to offer you?

xoxo, Sarah.

  1. Love this! We do get stuck in that mindset but when we believe anything can happen on a Monday it will! I found out with 2 of my 3 babies that I was pregnant on a Monday! What a blessing. =)

  2. This is a really great post. I have definitely been guilty of being the Monday Debbie Downer in the past. But, you're right. Everyday, whether it's Monday or Wednesday or Sunday, has so much potential for greatness. You just have to be willing to see it and take advantage of it.

    Happy Monday!
